Beginning of September 2016, Sports Car Centre in combination with the Weird Little Car Club organized a track event, this event toke place at the venue of Jay Esterer a local race car enthusiast and private race track owner.
The event was organized on very short notice but never the less nearly fifty cars showed up, from classic British sports cars to exotic Italian super cars and not to forget some of the weird small cars.
These event was a combination of a show and active exercise with the vehicles mentioned above, not speed related but the competitive element was a sort of bracket race, everyone did a orientation lap and after that a timed lap now this lap time could be at your own speed fast or slow it doesn’t matter, after this all competitors were given three laps and lap time had to be as close as possible to the original lapped time. And to make it even more competitive it was divided in three classes #1 up to 1000CC, #2 up to 2000CC and last #3 all over 2000CC.
It was an enormous success with some owners pushing their cars to the limits and others taking it easy as long as they whereas close as possible to their target time.
Sports Car Centre entered a total of four cars, customers and staff had this way a change to drive a other car then their own if they wanted, we won first prize in the up to 1000CC class with our Fiat Abarth 850 OT.
After the races we had a more than fantastic barbecue including the prize giving and we heard only positive comments, it is for sure that we will try to make this in annual event.
